Description

Technically, democracy is not “rule by the average,” but merely “rule OF the average,” by whoever is on top. But then, so is every other political system.

So why does this HATESHIRT even exist?

Because “democracy” is a sacrosanct Progressive construct. Note that no coherent, intelligible definition of “democracy” exists that more than three people can agree on. If you have elections, is it “democracy?” Well then, North Korea is a democracy. If the government is popular, is it “democracy?” Well then, Nazi Germany was a democracy. If a tiny elite have learned how to control elections so they are meaningless, and the wishes of the electorate are completely unrelated to policy, is it still a “democracy?” Well then, the United States is still a “democracy.”

The conversation about this outdated, ineffective, inevitably-corrupt form of governance has to start somewhere. So we start it here, with an attempt to at least get people to realize, via a poor definition, that they really have no idea what the word “democracy” means — not when they read it, not when they write it, and not when they scream it at protests.
